Christmas Tree Farm 2010

The Saturday after Thanksgiving we went to pick out our Christmas Tree.
We went to a Christmas Tree Farm for the first time - and had a great experience!

First, we went on a hay ride pulled by horses. Isaac LOVED it. He couldn't stop talking about the horses and their jingle bells for the rest of the evening.

Then, we picked up a saw and went hiking out into the fields of trees to pick our very own Christmas tree. Our #1 parameter for this tree... it had to fit into the trunk of our Honda Civic.
So here is the little Charlie Brown style Christmas tree that Isaac and I picked out.

Then Jeremy went to work cutting it down for us...

trimming those low branches off...

and carrying our spoils back to the barn where we enjoyed hot chocolate and cookies together.
Luckily it was a beautiful day (so we weren't too cold) and there was a gorgeous sunset...

We topped the night off with a family dinner at Arby's. I know, we're a classy family. :)
It was a fun and memorable trip as a family to get our Christmas tree!

2010 Family Photos: Kid's Edition

The two cutest kids I know.
The photo shoot went fairly well...
Isaac was remarkably cooperative - for a two year old. Unfortunately my poor little girl was NOT in a picture taking mood. She is usually very content and smiley - but she looks so serious in all of these. Oh well, at least she wasn't crying. We'll take what we can get. :)

2010 Family Photos: Couple's Edition

We haven't had pictures taken as a couple in eons... so it was fun to get a few shots of just the two of us during our family photo shoot. These are a few of our favorites.

First Attempt

This was Isaac's first attempt to dress himself.
After he woke up from his afternoon nap on Sunday he wanted to put back on his church clothes and go back to church. He was begging and pleading and whining... and finally walked over to his church clothes (that were still laying on the floor - oops) and decided to take matters into his own hands.

Not too shabby.
We were impressed. :)

Halloween 2010

Isaac LOVED Halloween this year! It was so fun to see his excitement and energy about it. He was Superman and when we asked him who he was he would take off running as fast as he could - with one arm raised up high above his head - and say "SUPERMAN!" So cute.

Summer Elise was a flower. LOVE her. Cutest little blossom I have ever seen.

On Saturday night, the day before Halloween, we went trick-or-treating to some of the families from our church. Isaac loved ringing the doorbell and seeing familiar faces and showing off his costume and GETTING CANDY. This kid definitely has a sweet tooth. Hmmm... I wonder where he got that from? He was very good and just held his pumpkin and looked at his candy in between houses. He didn't try to bust anything open - but he was pretty excited to dig in once we got home. :) And Summer Elise just hung out and smiled from ear to ear at her brother's excitement and the nice people behind each door. She's so easy to please. She was just happy to be with her family and to be along for the ride. She didn't even pull at her hat or whine once. What a doll!

He talked about Halloween for days - weeks afterward.
In fact, the day before Thanksgiving I was prepping him up for what to look forward to on Thanksgiving day and as I told him about the holiday he interrupted me and said, "No Mom. Bout we trick or treat instead?"
Ha!
