June Snippets

I have decided that these photos of my crazy kids (for the most part) need no introduction.  So here goes...

I overheard this gem the other day.

Elise: Isaac, you are my brother.  But Mom does not have a brother.

Isaac:  Yes she does, Dad is Mom's brother.

The other day Caleb was jabbering away in his 16 month old way...  And Elise yelled out in surprise... "Mom!  Caleb speaks Spanish!!"

I spy an "E" after "Elise" on 2 of the lines.  And that last one looks like she is getting pretty close!  Learning to write her name - SO proud!

One day - in an absurd burst of energy - I tackled cutting Isaac and Caleb's hair on my own (I learned my lesson and made sure to do it in the evening when Jeremy was home the next time!).  But I did it!  And they turned out just fine, if I do say so myself.  (p.s. suckers can be a mommy's lifesaver!)

Isaac's 5th Birthday!!!!!!

Yay!!!  Our sweet precious most wonderful ISAAC turned 5 years old!!!!!  And he was SO excited about it.  :)

We started out the morning with.... a crepe paper car wash, balloons, and PRESENTS!  A rocket from Caleb, a USA shirt from Elise, and a nerf gun, US Presidents puzzle, and huge American flag from Mom & Dad.  He was a happy, happy boy!  We had a special birthday breakfast and he got to play with his new toys.

Next up was a fun activity!  It was a stormy, rainy day - so our plans to take our cousins and meet up with friends at the splash park got cancelled. :(  Sad story.... Luckily I had a Plan B!  I got a babysitter for Elise and Caleb, and Isaac and I went on a special date to the Harry S. Truman Museum.  He had seen the sign off of the freeway for the museum multiple times and always begged me to take him, but we had never been.  So today was the perfect day for it!  We had a great time - the replica of the Oval office was probably his favorite part.  That, or the gift shop - where I let him pick out one thing to buy.  He chose a sticker president book - but it was a tough decision.  He also really liked the statue of Harry S. Truman.

Grandma and Papa called to wish him a Happy Birthday while we were there.  I love his smile. :)  Oh, and I also love the campaign pin that he made for himself at the museum. "Isaac for President."  Awesome.

On the way home we got to meet up with Dad for a special Mommy, Daddy, and Isaac BIRTHDAY lunch at Ginger Sue's.  Isaac ordered a giant Chocolate Chip pancake and Sprite. 

Thank goodness after quiet time the rain clouds cleared for a bit and Isaac got to have his pizza and POOL Family Birthday party with his cousins!!!!!  This boy LOVES to swim.  And he loves spending time with his cousins - so it was the perfect way to end the day.  Oh, and with patriotic birthday cupcakes too, of course!

Straight from Isaac's mouth...

Favorite color: Blue.  I mean green, dark green.

Favorite TV show: The Comfy Couch

Favorite sport: Kickball

Favorite thing to do with Dad: Hug him

Favorite thing to do with Mom: That she hugs me.

Favorite thing to do with Elise: Play house.

Favorite thing to do with Caleb: Tickle him.  I like to play roll the ball.

Favorite game:  Battleship.  Because I am old enough for that game.

Most proud moment from last year: I don't remember because there was so much stuff.   Ok - going swimming on Blake's birthday.

Favorite Food: Spaghetti.  Peanut butter and jelly sandwich.  Macaroni and cheese.  And what about treats?  Cake! Ice cream! Cupcakes with American flags on them.

Favorite Scripture Story: All of them are very great.  Ummm.... the Nephi Chapter and Joseph Smith's Vision.  So Nephi chapter 1 verse 7.

Best Friend:  Z Lehnardt.  Seth Condie.

Favorite thing about church:  Playing kickball at the church.  Playing with toys - except I don't get to do that anymore because I am too old.  Oh - going to Primary when we get to throw the cotton balls and sometimes he even does a handstand! (Interpretation:  Singing time with Dad)

Favorite Book: Toodle.  Our babysitter Monica has it.  She read it to me.

Favorite Animal: Cheetah!  They are really fast that is why I like them a lot.

Favorite thing to do outside: Play in the sprinkler.  I mean run in the sprinkler.


Favorite Song:  Head Shoulders Knees and Toes Eyes Ears Mouth and Nose

Best memory from the past year:  Easter!  Because you get to eat candy.  I mean July 4th.  Oh yeah, Silver Dollar City.  That is my favorite thing.

What are you looking forward to this next year: Going to new places.  Because I want to go to new places.

MATA Conference 2013 = Couple's Getaway!

Jeremy needed to attend the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys annual conference in Lake of the Ozarks for work (networking, CLEs, and more).  And we decided to have me go with him and turn it into a fun little couple's getaway.  We left on our getaway Thursday morning and returned home late Saturday night.  We left our kids in the care of our favorite young adult babysitter (Monica Crump) for day 1-2  - and Brent & Michelle for day 2 - 3.  Thankfully we didn't stress about the kids because we knew they were in good hands!

The MATA Conference was held at the Lodge of Four Seasons.  We had a beautiful view from our room and enjoyed exploring all that was offered there.  Jeremy had to go classes for several hours each day and then there were various social events that we both attended - but we were surprised at how much time there was still left to just be together!  We had the chance to talk, play games, watch tv, lounge poolside, eat yummy food, shop at the outlets, NAP, and just relax.  It was marvelous.  So grateful for the chance to get away, connect, and rejuvenate!
