Kansas City Temple 5K

The Kansas City Temple is under-construction! It is so fun to see it's progress and get more and more excited for it's completion next spring. Anyway, our Stake put on a Kansas City Temple Run on Saturday April 28, 2011 at 9 am. It was a 5K - and it was a BLAST. So many of our friends and ward members were there... and the weather was perfect! Jeremy and I both decided to run the race... and Isaac and Elise got to come along for the ride.

Hot, sweaty, and happy.
Jeremy and I didn't do much training for this race - so it was quite the push for us - not to mention that we had the added "benefit" of pushing 80 lbs. (kids + stroller) along the hilly course. Our time was 33:09. Could have been better... but definitely could have been worse. We took turns pushing the kids along the way - and at one point (last BIG incline) we even pushed them together. I was so grateful to have Jeremy run with me - I truly enjoyed it.

Isaac and Elise did alright. We packed along snacks and sippy cups and a few simple toys. There were a few tears - but we made it through. Afterwards Isaac kept talking about the "family race" - so I would say it was a hit.

And of course the highlight of the course (for Isaac) was rounding the bend and seeing his Uncle Brent and cousins cheering for us (Michelle was running the 5K as well). It's always fun having family around. :)

Sugar Cookies

Just a fun day of making sugar cookies with mom and then decorating them at night (when Jeremy was home) as a whole family. The kids really enjoyed it! The flour and the mixing bowl (aka "hat") were the biggest hits.

Using the Timer

One night when Jeremy got home from work - I randomly became determined that we needed a family photo - right then and there! (Even if the kids did happen to already have their pajamas on). It had just been forever (in my mind) since all 4 of us were in one shot. And what better time to fix that - then now? So... we busted out the timer and this is what we got. :)

I love my little happy family. They are such a joy to me!!!

Then Jeremy offered to take some photos of me with the little ones that I spend all day every day with. :) Aren't I the luckiest??

Regular Life

I really don't know what to say for this post... these photos are just of regular life. But I want to remember regular life. Cluttered floor... crawling baby. Just the usual. The BLESSED usual.

Eating with a spoon

Elise is such a great eater. We love it. :) And she has recently begun learning how to use a spoon and start feeding herself. Yay! She really enjoys it - and, actually, so do I. She does a great job and doesn't even seem to make a big mess! It's amazing! And it is fun to watch her learn. Here are some of the photos of one of the first times that she tried feeding herself with a spoon. Here she is using her right hand:
